Mr. Otterbein brings over three decades of investment expertise to his board advisory role at Flatrock Wealth Partners. With a distinguished career at PIMCO, Mr. Otterbein served as a Managing Director in the firm’s Newport Beach headquarters, leading the Institutional Client Management group across the Americas. He joined PIMCO in 1994, managing the New York office from 2000 to 2006 before returning to Newport Beach to oversee the institutional business teams. His leadership extended beyond client service, with over ten years of service on both the Executive Committee and the New Product Business Review Committee. He continues to consult for PIMCO today, leveraging his deep knowledge and client-first philosophy.
A proud alumnus of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Mr. Otterbein holds an MBA with a focus in finance. He also earned dual undergraduate degrees in mathematics and economics from Carnegie Mellon University.
Deeply committed to community impact, Mr. Otterbein serves on the Hoag Hospital Board of Directors and actively contributes to the hospital’s Investment, Finance, and Audit Committees. At Flatrock Wealth Partners, he serves as a trusted advisor, offering strategic insights that help shape the firm’s client-centric approach to wealth management.
