Meet Doug

Doug Ongaro brings over 30 years of experience in financial services, capital markets, and the asset management business. Doug was previously a Managing Director (Partner) at Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO) before retiring in 2017. Over his 22 years at PIMCO, Doug was responsible for creating, building, and managing PIMCO’s distribution of public and private funds to US-based clients across RIAs, Family Offices, and Private Banks. With Doug’s leadership, this business unit represented over $120 billion of AUM. In 2011, PIMCO acquired a wirehouse distribution capability from parent company Allianz and merged it into the existing business to form PIMCO’s Global Wealth Management Group (GWM). Doug served as Managing Director and co-head of GWM, a member of GWM’s operating committee and was responsible for leading a team of 125 employees and over $300 billion of AUM at PIMCO. Doug is a Managing Member of Yulupa Creek Partners, LLC, earned his BA in Finance from San Diego State University and is a CFA charter holder. He enjoys traveling, mountain bike riding, is an avid skier and aspiring golfer. He resides in Newport Beach with his wife Marlee. They have two grown children, Nicholas and Taylor.
